  • Teacher of lacemaking, design, and lace identification in Australia and overseas since 1976.
  • Specialist lace curator at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum 1983 to 2003.
  • Co-ordinator of the Powerhouse Museum's first and second International Lace for Fashion Award (1998 and 2001) and curator of the exhibitions of finalists.
  • Currently researching the origins of bobbin lace through the study and reconstruction of early plaited laces and related braids in public and private collections.
  • Awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 1990 for service to the arts, particularly lacemaking.
